Corrections
How to report an error in the Physio Cottage Journal, what happens next, and how corrections appear on an article.
How to report an error
If you find a mistake in an article, or a sentence that could be read two ways, please let us know in one of three ways:
- Email physiocottage@gmail.com with “Journal correction” in the subject line, the link to the article, the sentence in question and, where you can, the source that shows the correct information.
- Call (416) 445-5353 during clinic hours, Monday to Friday 10 am to 8 pm and Saturday 9 am to 5 pm.
- Send a message through our contact page.
Reports about your own health are different from reports about an article. If you have a question about your symptoms or your care, please book an assessment or call the clinic rather than using the correction route.
What happens next
Maryam Ahankoob, Registered Physiotherapist, reviews every report against current regulator guidance and the clinical research. If the error is confirmed, the article is corrected and a dated note is added so readers can see what changed. If the original wording stands, we reply with the reason when you have given us a way to reach you. The time a review takes depends on what has to be checked, and we do not publish a change until the check is complete.
How corrections appear
- Correction
- A factual error. The article is fixed and a note is added at the end, for example: “Correction, October 26, 2026: an earlier version of this article gave the wrong number of sessions. The paragraph now reflects current guidance.”
- Clarification
- Wording that was accurate but could be misread. The sentence is rewritten and a dated clarification note is added at the end of the article.
- Update
- New information, such as a change to an Ontario program or new clinical guidance. The “Updated” date in the article’s byline changes and, where it helps, a short note explains what is new.
We never silently change a published fact. Wording and formatting fixes that do not change the meaning carry no note and do not change the article’s date. An article is removed only when it cannot be corrected; its address then points readers to the related service page.
